The Design

The 1950s were all about lust for colour, labour-saving appliances and experimenting with the latest technology to create innovative forms with easy-care materials. Jimmy and Tam’s modern material choices brings all these elements together with style and grace.

Blending the right amount of texture and colour, Jimmy and Tam contrast the beautiful charcoal and soft white mineral composition of NEW Caesarstone® Black Tempal™ with the intense mid-tone greens of Kinsman Kitchens’ new Ballina Enamel. The tasteful combination forms an ultra-modern island bench that is both stylish and practical.

Along the back-run of benchtops, Jimmy and Tam keep it light and easy to maintain with the polished look of the Italian terrazzo-inspired Caesarstone® Frozen Terra™. The quartz surface draws in the light from the lengthy window splashback accentuating the light, airy feel of the space.

For the cabinetry, Jimmy and Tam opt for the Camden Oyster Grey Matt doors with a thin shaker profile and matt brass handles. The smart use of clear glass mid-height cabinetry and Kinsman Kitchens new Avalon in Oyster Grey highlights the character and scale of the kitchen.

Tucked away behind the wall of coveted Gaggenau appliances lies a galley-style butler’s pantry brimming with innovative storage solutions to keep those labour-saving devices organised and within easy reach.

Jimmy and Tam’s kitchen layout makes the most of the natural light with plenty of windows along the back wall and into the pantry. The thoughtful design offers plenty of room for a busy family to manoeuvre around the kitchen and entertain with ease.
