Caesarstone proves its versatility, toughness and beauty in a retail fit-out for Norsu Interiors
Norsu Interiors owners and founders, Nat Wheeler and Kristy Sadlier don’t believe in taking things easy.
Just as Nat undertook a huge renovation of her new Glen Iris home, the Norsu team decided it was time to open their third retail store, this time in Brighton, Victoria.
However, as experienced renovators and stylists, they had a clear idea of what they wanted for their new store – and made sure that Caesarstone was high on their list of must-have materials. After using it extensively in Nat’s new home, they knew it had that rare combination of beauty and practicality that they were looking for.
Norsu’s distinctive Scandi aesthetic was a perfect match for Caesarstone’s Statuario Maximus™ with its white base and deep, rich veins of marble detailing, they say, so it was the logical choice for the shop’s countertop.
The counter makes a subtle yet strong style statement in the store – yet it is still resilient to the rough and tumble of a busy retail environment. Nat says it just needs a wipe-down at the end of the day to retain its pristine appearance.
“Compared to the timber counters in the other stores, it’s just so much better because it looks brand new every day,” adds Kristy.
Located in a prestigious street in Brighton and competing with other high-end designer names, the Norsu team said they really wanted the new store to make an impact on passing customers.
“It’s a small store so we really needed it to pack a punch,” Kristy says. “All the stores along that street are the big names and they’re all beautiful. We needed it to be finished beautifully, but also still have that Norsu feel, which is more of a kind of cosiness.
Keeping it practical in terms of its use, yet complementing its soft, understated palette was crucial, she adds.
“A lot of our customers walk into our stores and they say it feels like they’re walking into a home. They feel a nice sense of calm – being at home and feeling comfortable around our products and the like.
“This is the third store that we’ve opened in as many years and I think we found the right niche in terms of what our customers respond well to within our other two stores. We know our colour palette now and we know what sells well within our stores. So, it all kind of came together quite quickly but it’s a really good result. It’s a little store, but it really does pack a punch.”
