Colour in the Kitchen - 2025 Style

Kitchens are coming in from the cold, trading their pristine, but sterile look of the past decade for a palette of mixed materials, lush colour and tactile texture.

The goal is to achieve a calming and timeless ambience, while creating a highly functional space rich in detail and visual interest.

Designs that Elevate

The kitchen below, designed by Alistair Fleming Design (UK), is a striking example of the bold statement that can be made with a blend of dark oak cabinetry, Caesarstone® Mineral Rugged Concrete™ (now available in crystalline silica-free format) and pops of bright orange in the form of shelving and breakfast bar. This design demonstrates how modern kitchen benchtops can be both practical and a key aesthetic element, blending durability with high-end style. From meal prepping to entertaining, the right countertop elevates the entire space.

Countertops Inspired by Art

The semi-industrial aesthetic of Rugged Concrete, with its tactile patina of deep to mid-tone greys
overlayed with a flush of white hazing, was actually inspired by a watercolour painting of the moon,
detailing the subtle mix of whites, greys and blacks on the lunar surface.

The aesthetics of concrete and fresh cement, with their semi-industrial referencing, are a perfect fit with this new focus on materiality in kitchen design. As can be seen in the kitchen below, designed by The Main Company (UK), a single vibrant colour across all cabinetry, teal blue, is balanced by Caesarstone® Mineral Raw Concrete™ (now available in crystalline silica-free format) for work surfaces and splashback.

Here, the kitchen countertops serve as the perfect neutral foundation, allowing the bold cabinetry to shine while maintaining a sophisticated, timeless appeal. Its mellow taupe base, overlayed with a patina of tiny mineral deposits in charcoal and chalk, pairs perfectly with the raw timber shelving and colour-rich cabinetry, bringing a mid-century flavour to the space.

Balancing Colour

And while colour in the kitchen can be bold and eye-catching, it can also be subtle and almost ethereal. In the kitchen below, designed by Roar Architects (UK), a perfect balance between two tones of blush pink cabinetry is achieved with the use of Caesarstone® Mineral Cloudburst Concrete™ for countertops and splash back.

These elegantly soft kitchen benchtops enhance the overall design, offering a tactile, low-reflective matt finish that complements the delicate colour palette. Emulating the softly translucent appearance of alabaster, it features a subtle cloudburst pattern in pure whites and warm creams and a low-reflective matt texture.
