Freedom Kitchens Transforms Elsternwick Bungalow with Caesarstone Mineral Airy Concrete™

Karen and Patrick enlisted Freedom Kitchens to transform the kitchen of their investment property in the Melbourne suburb of Elsternwick. The brief was simply to create a space that people would fall in love with and want to make their home.

What was once a tiny L-shaped kitchen in an original 1920s Californian bungalow, lacking both space and functionality, was reborn as a spacious, contemporary, highly efficient social hub able to cater for large family lunches and casual dinners with ease.

By changing the footprint of the space, to allow for a larger kitchen floor plan, the kitchen is able to accommodate a wide array of design features, from a statement island bench, to open shelving, generous bench space and copious easily accessible storage.

The colour palette of the new kitchen is a deep, rich charcoal that is elevated by the introduction of beautiful benchtops in Caesarstone Mineral Airy Concrete™, which will be available in a crystalline silica-free format from December 2024.

The patina and tactility of Airy Concrete™, in a rough finish, brings visual impact and a sense of modernity to any kitchen. Featuring the distinct textural markings and colour variation of honed concrete, it features a dove grey base layered with bursts of ivory whites, silver and slate greys.
