Kitchen design in Villa B featuring Caesarstone Adamina™ benchtops

Layà Villas, in Queensland’s Gold Coast, is the culmination of the inspired architectural talents of Jenn Sinclaire, lead interior designer at Comma Projects and building designer Jayson Pate. A high-end duplex, Layà Villas is, in the words of Jenn Sinclair, “akin to twins flaunting unique personalities through divergent interior schemes”. These peaceful, unique properties are certainly a world away from a typical suburban home.

An ambience of luxury and indulgence

Villa A is imbued with a distinct sense of tranquility, achieved by the layering of a neutral colour palette, and adorned with carved organic curves. This interplay of subtle contours against textured tiles and brutalist materials is in stark contrast to the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic, with Art Deco features, of Villa B. Here, while there is a continuation of the organic curves found in Villa A, the ambience is one of hotel/hospitality indulgence, where hues are warmer and furniture and fixtures more luxuriant, as can be seen in the walnut timber of the kitchen, and the brass fixtures and bronze mirrors found elsewhere in the home.

Adamina™ – Hues that match the nearby beach

Caesarstone Mineral™ surface Adamina™, available in Crystalline Silica-Free formula blend from December, was selected for all kitchen benchtops, plus bar and laundry work surfaces and bathroom vanities.

Adamina™ was chosen, says Jenn, “primarily for its surface design – a limestone-look with warm, sandy beige hues that matched the nearby beach – as well as its longevity and low maintenance”. The designer also loved the honed finish of Adamina™, a far better fit for this project than the traditional polished finish.

The sheer beauty – and versatility – of our Mineral surface Adamina™ can be seen in the sensuously curved kitchen island bench, plus the beautifully tactile cantilevered vanity in the ensuite.
