When Geelong-based digital artist, Kimmy Hogan, decided to create her forever home she had a very clear brief in mind – the small weatherboard cottage should retain its original charm while offering her family of five (plus dog) enough space to live, love and grow over the next 20 years.  While the house would undergo a complete renovation, the finished home would be practical and comfortable yet full of character.  Above all it would feature high quality, considered materials and decorative elements that could withstand the wear and tear of three growing boys. 

Soft, Sandy Tones in the Heart of the Home

The kitchen, often considered the heart of the home, is a breathtaking showcase of Caesarstone Adamina™. The benchtops and splashbacks in this soft, sandy hue add warmth and texture to the space, perfectly complementing the timber cabinetry, rustic zellige tiles, and natural bamboo light fittings. Adamina’s tactile beauty enhances the lived-in feel of the kitchen, bringing a subtle, natural elegance that balances effortlessly with the home’s curated antique finds and earthy colour palette.

In the adjoining butler’s pantry, Adamina™ continues the design narrative, creating a cohesive flow throughout the home. The surface’s durability ensures it can handle the practical demands of a busy household while maintaining its timeless appeal.

A Serene Escape in the Bathrooms

The same, soft neutral colour palette is achieved in the bathroom and ensuite, although this time featuring hand-made Zellige tiles, travertine flooring and brushed brass tapware.

Once again Caesarstone Mineral™ Adamina™ is the unifying element, featuring on vanities in both spaces and acting as the perfect conduit between ceramic tiles and timber cabinetry.

For Kimmy and her family, creating a beautiful home was about more than aesthetics — it was about designing a space that could stand up to daily life. With three young boys, durability and functionality were essential considerations. Caesarstone Adamina’s stain and scratch resistance make it an ideal choice for a family home, offering peace of mind without compromising on style.
