Caesarstone® was a key sponsor of the television program homeMADE which was aired nationally on Channel 9 from May 10. A fast paced renovation competition, homeMADE was a renovation program produced by the same team as the highly successful series “The Block”.

As a sponsor, Caesarstone® supplied the stone for 16 kitchen renovations throughout the program. Each week the designers in consultation with the home owners selected the colour of the Caesarstone® benchtop to compliment the overall design theme.

homeMADE stared 10 up and coming designers from around Australia who, over eight weeks, took on the biggest challenge of their lives – to completely make over two suburban family homes every week in a competition to win $100,000.

Each week the talented homeMADE designers were split into two teams, one per house. Their challenge was to meet their client’s brief while making the finished result spectacular and unique: a space that will not only impress the family but also wow the judges.

While each room had the constraints of a budget, a deadline and a design that would work for their client, it was no doubt the kitchens and bathrooms were the most challenging of rooms to renovate.

One of the homeMADE finalists, Darren Palmer, made no secret that his preference was to be assigned the kitchen and bathroom renovations. Darren’s successful interior design practice, Darren Palmer Interiors, specializes in kitchens and he is the first to admit that his favorite benchtop material is CaesarStone.

“I often specify Caesarstone® and was really pleased to know that we would be using this product on the show. I can always find a colour from their large range to fit with any scheme I am putting together, while you can’t beat the durability and resilience of the product. Its versatility also means that it can be used in interesting design applications”, said Darren.
