The Hub of the Home

_________

The Kitchen is the Hub of the home, where everyone gathers as they enter your home. It needs to be as good looking as it needs to practical. It’s a masterpiece. Kitchen’s sell homes.

With all this in mind, the pressure was on...

Leighton worked on the layout and its practicality, whilst I went to work on making it the masterpiece that would set the scene for our home. I always wanted a dark colour in the kitchen. When selling we usually wouldn’t use a dark colour so as not to put anyone off buying the home, as lots of people believe that a dark kitchen would require up keep - However, this time I could choose what I wanted…very exciting!

___________

I chose Dulux Monument, a colour which represents a dark charcoal, nearly black. Once I locked that colour in it was time to choose the stone that would best compliment the kitchen colour and also the wall paint which was Dulux White on White which throws a blue grey colour also.

With such a gorgeous range from Caesarstone, it was my one stop shop. I knew I was after a concrete look stone with variations. The two concrete look stone choices that I thought I would choose looked great but of course Caesarstone had something new for me on my arrival. Caesarstone Georgian Bluffs™, a design that had the right toning’s, a mix of concrete and marble - absolutely stunning! It has really given a luxe feel to our urban style kitchen.

Due to having never designed a dark kitchen before I was having a little trouble deciding on a product for the splashback. Usually, due to cost-effectiveness, I use tiles for the splashback, but I wanted this kitchen to be different...

After doing some inspiration research of dark kitchens the decision was made and it was easy to just simply use the same Caesarstone from the benchtop on the splashback for a very seamless & stylish look. I already had my point of difference with using mesh inserts to a row of cabinets just above the splashback. With Caesarstone being such a fantastic product, it can be used as  splashback  and has only enhanced the flow of the benchtops.

To create flow throughout the home, Caesarstone Georgian Bluffs™ was used in the butler’s pantry, but for that point of difference, I have used hand cut white subway tiles for the splashback. We have also used the same Caesarstone mixed with timber in our ensuite; the white bowls pop beautifully on the tops and the timber adds warmth.

Back in the kitchen, with dark colour cabinets, stainless steel mesh and a concrete, marble look choice from Caesarstone we needed to add warmth to the overall look of the kitchen, which is achieved by the three Blackbutt shelves which add that perfect touch, my favourite part of the kitchen… oh after the Caesarstone of course!!!

__________

Caesarstone is such a wonderful product for durability, class and colour that will outstand the life of your home, don’t choose anything else.
