2015 Camp Quality SA Charity Race Day
Thursday, September 03, 2015
This year’s event was held at the Morphettville Race Track on Saturday 22nd August and was attended by 183 people. This was a huge improvement from last year, where we had 80 people attending.
With our planning and preparations in place, nothing could go wrong and we were set for a HUGE day….that was, until we awoke to the State being blanketed in low lying fog. Fortunately, the conditions picked up and by early afternoon the race track and spectators were bathing in the wonderful Adelaide sunshine.
Our guests were dressed accordingly and with some sensing Spring was around the corner, deciding to frock up in readiness for the Spring Carnival season. As we got under way, drinks were flowing, bets were being placed, food being consumed but more importantly, $’s were being raised for Camp Quality.
Throughout the day the guest were encouraged to dig deep into their pockets and either make a generous and kind donation or simply buy a raffle ticket or bid for the (silent) auction items, or alternatively bid at the live auction for the ‘Prize money can’t buy’: a day in a 50ft Sun Runner Boat for 14 people, fully catered for, including refreshments and a driver. Bidding for this item was fast and furious and when the gavel came down, we had banked an additional $2700.00 in the CQ coffers.
The CQ Race Day was a huge success, with even a few interstate Stonemasons & partners making the trip into SA to see what all the fuss was about….and they weren’t disappointed.
An event like this doesn’t just happen, it takes time to plan and execute……we did both and we did it well. The feedback form clients, friends and industry colleagues was so encouraging, they all want to be part of this event in 2016!
Special thanks must be given to the entire SA Caesarstone team for their methodical and can do approach, Camp Quality SA crew, the ongoing support of the SAJC, Monopoly Property Group, Sign of The Times, Purchase Point Australia and especially or friends and guest for their support.
In summary, SA raised an incredible $20,000 for Camp Quality. Giddy Up!!
